Description
A curated collection of banners, originally created as part of the women's suffrage campaign in the UK. Many of the banners were designed by the Artists' Suffrage League for a procession by the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies in June 1908. This collection also includes the design album of Mary Lowndes, founder of the Artists' Suffrage League. Within the album are designs for banners (some with fabric swatches), posters and postcards. It includes designs by Mary Lowndes and other suffrage artists such as Mary Sargent Florence and C. Hedley Charlton.
