COLL MISC 0660/2/2 - Let's speed up industrialization in the USSR with deposits to state labour

This painted poster depicts various forms and machinery from Industry. In the top left hand corner there is an industrial plant, while at the botton is a combine harvester with hay. The central feature of the poster, however, is a large wheel, spinning very fast, which covers most of the poster from the right hand corner, producingsavings books. This poster is in the Russian language.

A collection of posters drawn from four different collections held at LSE archives. The ‘Political and Tariff Reform Posters’ series includes a selection of political posters produced by various British political parties and the Tariff Reform League from 1892 – 1910. The ‘London County Council Election 1907’ series includes a selection of campaigning posters and papers produced for that election. The ‘British Labour Delegation to Russia’ series includes propaganda posters, papers, gazettes and newspaper articles collected by the Delegation during their visit to Soviet Russia in 1920. The ‘Russia Childcare Posters’ series includes posters produced by the Soviet Ministry of Health (Ministerstvo zdravookhraneniya) from 1930 – 1931, instructing parents on how to take care of their children’s health.

COLL MISC 0660/2/3 - "The Birth of The Soviets and the Different Organs of Soviet Power"

This poster demonstrates by the use of six long drawings, which stretch across the whole poster, the hierarchy of the organisation of Soviet Power. The bottom picture shows a small hut with only several people in it alongside a drawing of the virtually untouched rural scene. This scene develops and changes through the next five pictures until the top. This top picture shows the same small building as a large, ornate building with a speaker preaching to a large assembled crowd, while the side scene has gone from countryside to a highly developed urban setting.
